SEVENTY House Members Risk Careers in Planned Showdown With Leadership

Seventy House Republicans are planning a politically risky showdown with Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to try to force additional debate on an immigration bill they say will mean amnesty for illegal immigrants and have dire consequences for the country.
The 70 members are petitioning for a special Republican conference meeting on the bill, a “highly unusual” move to go head-to-head with the speaker, according to Reps. Michele Bachmann (Minn.), Steve King (Iowa) and Louie Gohmert (Texas), who are serving as spokespersons for the group.

Bachmann, King and Gohmert told TheBlaze the group is invoking the Hastert Rule: requiring support from a majority of the majority to bring a bill forward.
The petition is expected to go to the House leadership on Friday, but it’s possible some signatories might remove their names due to political risk, or that Boehner could head off the challenge by striking a deal. Going against leadership in such a way could have harsh political consequences for the signatories, including retaliation such as permanently getting passed over for chairmanship positions.
A Boehner spokesman did not immediately return a request for comment.
Boehner is on a tight schedule for getting immigration reform passed in the House, predicting this week that Congress could finalize a bill for President Barack Obama’s signature by the end of the year. Any major challenge could ignite pushback from the American public that could force lawmakers to scrap the bill, as happened in the 2007 immigration effort.
The three representatives told TheBlaze that more than half of the Republicans in the House were elected after 2007, and have no concept of how strongly the public opposed the bill.
In an interview with World Net Daily this week, Bachmann predicted that if the immigration bill becomes law, “the whole political system will change.”
“This is President Obama’s number one political agenda item because he knows we will never again have a Republican president, ever, if amnesty goes into effect. We will perpetually have a progressive, liberal president, probably a Democrat, and we will probably see the House of Representatives go into Democrat hands and the Senate will stay in Democrat hands,” Bachmann said.
She also said that if it passes, the bill will create a permanent progressive class.
“That’s what’s at risk right now. It may sound melodramatic, I don’t mean it that way, but this is that big and that important,” Bachmann said.

The self appointed, "Peace" President is at it, again. Not content to straightforwardly deal with the numerous scandals dragging him and his administration down, Obama has chosen to take sides in the Syrian, Muslim on Muslim conflict. Given his proclivity for giving aid to the Muslim Brotherhood, Obama is committing America to another non winnable military, "police action."

If You Believe in American Greatness and the Beauty of our Great Constitution, You are the Enemy of the Obama Regime.

Department of Labor Shaking Down News Agencies, In Attempt to Suppress Illegal Email Scandal?

Press Shakedown? Labor Dept. Wanted $1M from AP

by Keith Koffler on June 4, 2013, 8:45 am
In the latest blow to the Obama administration’s claim to be the “openness administration,” word emerged today that the Department of Labor sought to charge a news organization more than $1 million for information.
According to the Associated Press, which reported today on the widespread use by government officials of secret email accounts, Labor demanded that AP pay $1.03 million for costs the department said were involved in retrieving email addresses for political appointees.

Florida parents are right to be outraged at the outrageous privacy violations that took place late last week in at least 3 Polk County, Florida schools.

I just got off the phone with Rob Davis, senior director of support services for the district, who confirmed to me what Florida education activists blew the whistle on here: Students were indeed subjected to iris scans without their parents’ permission.

The schools involved:

Daniel Jenkins Academy – high school
Bephune Academy – elementary school
Davenport School of the Arts – middle school.

Davis told me that “it is a mistake on our part” that a notification letter to parents did not go out on May 17. He blamed a secretary who had a “medical emergency.” Instead of verifying that parents received the letter and ensuring that any families who wanted to opt out had a chance to so, the schools allowed officials from Stanley Convergent Security Solutions to take iris scans of an unknown number of students as part of a “pilot” security program for students who take the bus to the three above-named schools.

Davis told me those unauthorized scans took place on May 22 and May 23 last week, right before the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Schools were notified that Stanley was coming. But not parents.

In addition, the district had planned to conduct a pilot scan program with another security company, Blinkspot. Students who ride seventeen school buses were planned to be a part of the scanning regime.

Davis says all of the data has been destroyed.

So has the trust parents have in these negligent educrats violating family privacy in the name of “safety.”

Davis says the district’s superintendent and attorney met on Tuesday. Lawyering up is probably a good idea.

Statement from the TEA Party of Florida
     for immediate release
November 7, 2012
The evening of Election Day 2012, I spent pacing the makeshift studio, located at the Marshall Student Center, on the campus of University of South Florida, in Tampa, as a panelist for BBC. They put together a sort of morphing round table, representing a mix of politicians, students, activists and “personalities,” for the broadcast, which lasted 8 hours.
BBC was bringing the feel of an American election to their audience all over the world and the experience in our studio was repeated in a number of American cities to give listeners a “real feel,” of things here in their old colonies. Students were invited representing campus Democrats, Republicans, both campaigns and a smattering of single issue clubs.
Early on the host asked me to do a one on one interview and introduce the TEA Party to an audience that had only heard the horror stories of “old, angry, white, racists,” and I expect he thought he would paint me with that brush. When I led off reminding the listeners that the TEA Party of Florida was all in for Herman Cain and very saddened when he dropped out, the racist tag was retired. As I explained our concern that our country could reach the end of our borrowing capacity, become suddenly unable to fund the federal branch and simply go out of business, exactly like the old USSR, he scoffed but soldiered on to talk about our position on the 2012 election.
He asked why the TEA Party of Florida reluctantly gave our endorsement to Mitt Romney. I answered, "Governor Romney is not our cup of tea, but he is the cup of tea we have been served." When the host stopped laughing, he wanted to know what that meant. Remember, they were British and a Tea joke goes far with them. I told him that the TEA Party desperately hoped for a serious fiscal hawk willing to ignore politics and do what's right.
We know how determined the GOP was to force America accept their choice to go up against Barrack Obama, at any cost. We also know EXACTLY how that turned out.
After two failed presidential elections and a House takeover largely fashioned by TEA Party candidates, we are free to enact a new set of rules and no longer allow ourselves to be hemmed in by the duopoly that is the political landscape in the USA.
America has finally reached a place where it is possible that a third party can be effective and achieve serious support from those who have been failed by the self-centered policies that are enacted to preserve power, instead of promote the general welfare of all citizens.
The never ending rush to divide, label and dismiss any and all opposition brought the GOP another stinging rebuke from an electorate that expected better and got less. When an election costs billions, not millions and the end result leaves people more partisan that when it started, something is seriously broken and it is this two party system that exists to take in money and put out influence.
We invite all Americans to investigate the TEA Party, for themselves and decide if we are worth taking a chance and joining. It costs nothing and just might change the tone of American politics by taking partisanship out and putting common sense, fiscal sanity in.

Statement From The TEA Party Of Florida
     for immediate release
September 12, 2012
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the senseless, murderous acts of Muslim terrorists, in Libya and Egypt and the families of the dead and wounded.

The TEA Party of Florida condemns the Muslim terrorists responsible for the murderous attacks on US Embassies in Libya and Cairo yesterday, September 11, 2012. The actions of these terrorists amount to an act of war, especially since the Libyan Government refused to properly defend the embassy and should be treated as such.  Pretending that the government of Libya is not responsible for this outrage is tantamount to surrender, which seems the intentions of Mr. Obama.
Mr. Obama has failed to lead, again, in the interest of America. His lack of swift and strong action endangers every American on foreign soil and here, at home. The United States cannot afford another weak, directionless leader, like Mr. Carter, who is just as unable to stand up to thugs, terrorists and state sponsored assassins, as Mr. Carter.
Mr. Obama has pursued a policy of “leading from behind,” or simply, appeasement, as described by his press secretary. Such a policy leads to this type of aggression by despotic regimes and murderous Muslim terrorists. By refusing to lead, Obama allows US interests to be hijacked whenever violent thugs wish. Giving the Muslim Brotherhood well over a billion dollars, as a taxpayer funded “gift” looks as ill-advised today, as it did when Mr. Obama made “gave” it.
The TEA Party of Florida calls upon Mr. Obama to turn away from his policies of weakness and fear embrace a policy of resolute strength and never again allow Muslim terrorists to murder American citizens without swift and decisive response. Americans deserve a leader who understands that backing up, bowing down and bending over are not the American way.

Statement From The TEA Party Of Florida
2012 promises to have enormous challenges, in America. At this time it is important to remember the advice of Abraham Lincoln...
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could  and should do for themselves.

                                                                                                                   Abraham Lincoln

Statement From The TEA Party Of Florida
For Immediate Release:
April 3, 2012
President Obama's Abuse of Power
In one day Barrack Obama and his administration have managed to remind America why elections matter. The display of arrogance, petulance, and a cynical disregard for the law, have delivered a virtual cafeteria of reasons why Americans must remain vigilant, engaged and interested in the affairs of our government.
Many observers of our government suggest the President has moved beyond politics and into the arena of propaganda, with his latest actions and it is hard to disagree. It is becoming clear that the President constantly fails to distinguish the difference between campaigning and leading.
President Obama's incomprehensible statements with regard to the U.S. Supreme Court, coming from a man that claims to have been a constitutional law professor, border on delusional. The manner in which the President instructed the media to ignore any opposing viewpoints and paint his as the only worthwhile position, call his judgment into question, along with his integrity and stability.
If that were not enough, DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano announced that DHS will be issuing something ridiculously called, "Unlawful Presence Waivers," to illegal aliens, at a time when increased oversight of the likelihood the coming election will be impacted by fraudulently cast ballots and a partisan battle over voter ID laws. The new waivers call into question the intentions of the government to obey even the simplest laws, if they appear get in the way of reelection.
All this in the span of twenty-four hours. Almost too much for a person to comprehend, all at once, which may well be the intent.
The TEA Party of Florida cautions President Obama against all actions that, once taken, can only be interpreted as being related to his reelection campaign, at the expense of our Constitution, our laws, and our sensibilities. None of the actions mentioned here pass the reasonableness test and call out for a special, independent prosecutor to sort through the.
